I was not happy with rushing this yesterday….that’s how it felt so, today I thought, get started early and do it properly!
On days when we have plenty of racing this will not be possible, as my mornings are more or less taken up working on my subscribed members Newsletters, which is only right and proper….without them, I’m not here to do anything!
I’d like to start with a look back at yesterday’s results, how we did, and my thoughts on a couple of things.
(OMM), * – CHARMANT….+9 – NR
BALLYVIC BORU (BF)….-3
W2* – UBALTIQUE….-12
* – NUTS WELL….-24 – WON 9/4
T – AIN’T MY FAULT (BF)….-40
REVIEW: A gamble was landed here but it started after my mid-morning update had gone out so you could only act on it if you were watching those markets yourself. With the race down to just five runners I opted to work with my “top two” but I’m kicking myself.
I’m now considering reverting back to how I used to work, which was to concentrate on those horses in such race, that have the * icon next to their names, as this indicates previous winning form on the ground they raced on.
If I’d done that, I’d have been on a winner.
* – DEAR SIRE….-6
* – SNOOKERED….-11 – WON 15/8
* – ONLY ORSENFOOLSIES….-22 – 2ND 12/1
T – DESTIN D’AJONC….-40
REVIEW: Again a dutch of those horses in here with the * icon would have produced a winning play and, indeed, two of the three wearing that icon came home 1st and 2nd, producing a £34 exacta.
H* – DORKING COCK….+9 – 4TH 11/2
H* – INDIAN BRAVE….+6 – 2ND 16/1
H* – LOUSE TALK (BF)….-12 – 3RD 15/2
FRANCKY DU BERLAIS….-24
T* – ECLAIR DE GUYE….-40
(OMM), NATIVE ROBIN (BF)….-40
DOMAINE DE L’ISLE….-40 – WON 9/2
ENVOL DE LA COUR….-40
REVIEW: The winner was impossible to Rate accurately because this was only its third run in this country, and all I had to work with was one five runner race that took place in May, and another that took place at the beginning of last month….which amounted to diddly, really.
My figures were sound enough, my top three filling the places behind the winner @ 16/1, 15/2 and 11/2
* – POTTERS CORNER….+7 – WON 11/1
* – MUFFINS FOR TEA (BF)….+1
* – SOLSTICE STAR….-9
* – FINAL CHOICE….-23
(OMM), H – REMASTERED….-40
* – JUGE ET PARTI….-40
REVIEW: A terrific result with my top rated beating the Overnight Market Mover into second place.
(OMM), * – CAPTAIN CATTISTOCK (BF)….+9 – 3RD 9/4
* – ANOTHER VENTURE (BF)….-5 – 2ND 11/2
* – LOOKS LIKE POWER….-5
(MMM), H* – ACTING LASS….-27 – WON 3/1
REVIEW: The introduction of Market Movers into the equation has proven to be a great success and here we saw one that surfaced in the morning proving successful.
That * icon was again a requirement.
W – PRESENCE FELT….+8
W* – DUBAI ANGEL….+4 – WON 8/1
DUBH DES CHAMPS….-10
T* – LISDOONVARNA LAD….-16 – 2ND 9/2
(MMM) – BLUE HUSSAR….-22
* – COURT BALOO….-35 – 3RD 5/1
W2T – REVE….-37
W2T – HASTRUBAL….-40
T – ELECTRON BLEU….-40
REVIEW: Only three horses in this race had previous winning form on the going as was officially described and they finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Thankfully my figures were correct and we enjoyed a successful dutch.
DEPUTY’S OSCAR….+15 – 2ND 3/1
* – CROSSGALESFAMEGAME….+12
T* – ORIENTAL CROSS….+11 – WON 12/1
T – AIMEE DE SIVOLA….-25 – 3RD 10/3
* – DAYTIME AHEAD….-35
(OMM) – UNE DE LA SENIERE….-35
W – HENRIETTA BELL….-40
THE KINGS BABY….-40
W – OUR DOT’S BABY….-40
REVIEW: The figures were spot on again, with the first three in my top four rated, the winner in my top three, and again that * icon proved worthy of inclusion.
* – LORD OF THE ISLAND….+13
* – BOYHOOD….-8
* – FLEMCARA….-25
T – EUR GONE WEST….-30
T* – SILVA ECLIPSE….-35
DREAM BERRY….-40 – 2ND 16/1
GO WHATEVER….-40 – WON 3/1F
TH – TAJ BADALANDADAD….-40
FORTUNATE GEORGE (BF)….-40 – 3RD 8/1
REVIEW: When I’m looking to produce a figure for a horse I like to see “back form” I can apply but here our winner had only seen a track under rules three times previous.
Simply impossible to get a handle on and I just give a little shrug and move on.
* – AGUILLE ROUGE….+8
* – MAN OF PLENTY….+5
* – THEO’S CHARM (BF)….-16
* – RUACANA (BF)….-30
T – SMARTY WILD….-34
SONG FOR SOMEONE….-40 – 3RD 6/1
T – GROVEMAN (BF)….-40
W2 – PROTEKTORAT (BF)….-40 – 2ND 6/1
T – MACK THE MAN….-40 – WON 6/1
W2H – ASHUTOR….-40
REVIEW: Again our winner was extremely lightly raced and was having just its seventh run under rules. The horse had won on it’s seasonal debut but that was a Class 4 at Worcester. Here he’s won a Listed race and his -40 rating simply reflected what had gone before.
Again, a little shrug, and move on.
* – CLASSIC BEN (BF)….+17
* – HOUBLON DES OBEAUX….+15
T* – RATHLIN ROSE….+9
W – STEP BACK….+9
* – ROYAL VACATION….+5
W2* – SHANROE SANTOS….-19
* – VINNE LEWIS….-28
H* – GET ON THE YAGER….-30
T* – SHARP RESPONSE….-40
Last year I decided I’d no longer produce figures for Aintree as the track is not used enough to enable me to produce accurate figures.
The decision was made to simply work with Market Movers and this is how they performed there yesterday:
11-30 – EDWARDSTONE – 5/2 > 6/4 > 5/4 – WON
12-00 – CASABLANCA MIX – 4/6 > 4/7 – WON
12-30 – SAMMY BILL – 3/1 > 9/4 – WON
1-30 – DEFINITLY RED – 16/1 > 9/1 – 4TH
EDWARDSTONE was advised to subscribed members the evening before racing and, as we slept, the horse continued to attract money.
By mid-morning we had additional “movers”, which my subscribed members were advised of.
A profit made there, on the day.
TEN TO FOLLOW
A good day for our lists as NATIVE RIVER and DEFI DU SEUIL won. We now sit 92nd, with many horses in our best lists still to run.
I entered a line of my own, too. I called the “stable”….10THIN2001, to reflect the fact I’d finished 10th in this competition, in 2001. It’s doing ok, too.
The 10 in that line are:
DEFI DU SEUIL
CHACUN POUR SOI
The top four have run, and won….the rest are yet to race so plenty of “scope”.
TODAY’S FREE ADVICE
I was annoyed with myself yesterday as I should have simply worked with Aintree for this section, and plucked a horse from the “movers” section.
Today I’m looking at producing you the Placepot at Huntingdon plus, the name of one horse I feel will produce you a profit on the day.
That horse is MIN (Punchestown 1-50)
It won’t be a great price but that is not what this Newsletter is about. Those big priced winners we enjoyed from my Rated races yesterday come about as a result of accurate handicapping, which is what my subscribed members subscribe for….but dutching is the only sensible way of playing those races because I have no idea which of my top three will be winning….I just know that as often as not, the winners will be in my top three rated horses.
12-30 – LADY CYLLA
1-00 – TARADA
1-30 – TEA CLIPPER
2-00 – ASO
2-30 – WEST CORK
3-00 – VEGAS BLUE
They start this card with a Conditional Jockeys Handicap and I’ve selected to one I have because she was well backed last time out and ran a good race, not seeming to finish off her race. She has since undergone a wind-op, they have booked Ben Jones to ride and she has again been backed from 16/1 > 8/1 so they appear to be looking to get their money back from last time.
It might happen, it might not….but we’ll only be wiser after the event.
