Each Way Double

Each way double day 13.

i don’t believe it. This morning I study and pick out two good looking horses that should have at least been placed and get nothing.  I was in the pub tonight and logged in to Oddschecker to see I had put a bet on last night after coming home from the pub and it won. There is a moral here somewhere “drink more think less”. I think.

Today I am going for two favs at Chester in the hope of nearly getting our money back.

2.25 Manuela de Vega.  3/1 one of our twenty to follow

3.00 Top Breeze  4/1 won his last two and has the best draw. Danger from O'Meara Tudhope combination Leodis Dream but he has stall 6 to overcome.

Each way Double Day 14

b/f -£116.80

I suppose that’s racing. You back a horse ew and it comes 4th you double two O’Meara Tudhope horses one day and he has a double the next day. Today I have gone for a couple of UXBs. These are horses  like the Irish donkeys that come over and win by 20lengths.  They could be first or last. I have gone for Gabriel The One 4.35 Chester. Marvin Koukash loves to win at Chester and likes a gamble. Richard Faheys horses are on form and this horse has run four of his seven races at Chester. He is up in class and distance today but won’t mind the soft going as he was only beaten a head here on soft going last September. 12/1 is a fair price and I think the money will come for him if Marvin thinks he has a chance.

£5 ew double and it may be worth have a little ew on the singles.

My other one is slightly riskier. 4.25 Huntington Brigadier Bob only six years old so a little young for chasing (his first chase) but Kerry Lee is brilliant at getting the best out of her horses and with Jamie Moore up we only have the horse and the going to worry about. He has run well in heavy over hurdles and seems to stay on well so if he can jump we are quids in. Oh and my mother would back him because of the double letters. Spanish Steps Red Rum etc and she was rarely wrong.

Good luck, Geoff....I'm keeping my wallet firmly shut whilst this rain is changing things!

That Leodis Dream yesterday?.....Market Mover 😉....they very rarely lie.

Still dancing down where I am and those going to Chester today, brolly at the very least!!

Each way double day 14 summary

another hard luck story.  Gabriel the one was not backed in and then reared in the stalls and was slowly away. Finishing 5th.  Maybe Mawan will have one tomorrow. One to watch for Royal Ascot?  Brigadier Bob was trying for a double for Kerry Lee and Jamie Moore who had an earlier winner. He managed to get second so will be winning soon.

The O ‘Meara Tudhope bandwagon rolled on with another winner at Chester .

Each way double day 15

B/f  -£126.80

Today Marwan Koukash has, Gabrial The Saint 10/1  in the 1.50  Gabrial 33/1  in the 2.25 Restorer 6/1 in the 3.00.  and Suegioo 25/1  in 5.15.

Gabrial The Saint won over 6f at this meeting last year beating Mr Top Hot who won the last race yesterday over 1m 2f  at 16/1. The 7f and soft/heavy going should not bother him and with Paul Hanagan on board  hopefully he will be well placed by Paul coming out of stall seven. Obvious dangers are Barraweez last years winner and the O'Meara Tudhope horse Cold Stare.

Gabrial is in a six horse race and the 33/1 gives his chances of winning this but with Fahey and Koukash at ch With no ew three places available ester you can never tell. Gabrial has been highly tried mainly in class 1 races and has won a couple but not since 2016 so no matter how I try I cannot see him winning this one.

Restorer is trained by the in form Ian Williams who I think will soon join the band of trainers who regularly pick up top races. This is Restorers  first race this year but he won this race first time out last year as 7/2 f but unfortunately did not progress much after that picking up just one race all season. . He has 6lb more to carry but has stall 3 and Ryan Moore up so must have a chance of repeating his win but may find one or two too good for him especially as he has been slowly away on his last two runs.  This race should go to Frankuus 4/1 drawn 2 who has won a class 1 in good to soft for Mark Johnson and is now trained by O'Meara and ridden by Tudhope.

Suegioo 5.15 is a previous winner of the Chester cup in 2014 when trained by Marco Botti he then moved to Richard Fahey  who trained him to be 4th in this race last year.  Dr Koukash has since moved him to Ian Williams but he has Paul Hanagan on board.  if Ian has worked his magic on the horse he may come like a train at the end and get a place but I feel he is on the downgrade and at 10 years old this type of race is beyond him.

Today I also like Cleonte 3.35 Ches and Baydar out of the six Ian Williams horses in the last.

Todays EW doubles

B/f  -£146.80

Another disaster yesterday but today I think I have found two that will get our losses back.

Ascot 4.00 Cape Byron 9/1

Nott 5.15 Gleeful  13/2

£5ew double

If I get time I will review all previous bets and try to see what has gone wrong since I started putting these bets up.

Each Way Double Day 17

B/f - £156.80

A winner and a 4th yesterday so maybe we are getting close. Today I have abandoned my selections and used Ron's excellent ratings and trackers.  Two bets.

Lud 1.55 Hear the Chimes  11/1  Ron's clear top rated and has Sam Twiston Davies aboard who has won on him before.  18 runners though so will need luck in running.

Plum 4.05  Gin N Tonic  7/1   My favourite. The drink not the horse. The only CD winner in the race. He won this race last year. My worry is that before he won it he had gone off at 50/1 50/1 and 12/1 in his previous three races. He then wins at 9/2 fav so I hope to see some support for him in the betting.

£5ew double

There are three tracker horses running today  Two at Longchamp and one at Leopardstown. One (Persian King 2.55 Long) is odds on fav so I will cover the other two

4.10 Leop Grandmaster Flash  5/1 2nd fav Trained by Joseph O'Brien who I like a lot but this horse and the fav both have seconditis.  The fav is trained by his father who has three in the race.  Aiden O'Brien is a master of beating his own fav with a 2nd or 3rd string. Looking at the Fav, he has had his chances and failed so hopefully the Grandmaster will flash passed him today.

4.30 Long  East 5/1  A very tough race but having won 2 and been 2nd once in his three races must have a chance. The field includes horses from some of the best European trainers.

Each way Double Day 18

B/f - £176.80

We need a win to get rid of this deficit.  Yesterday we had a 2nd beaten by a 40/1 shot and a third at Longchamp. Grandmaster Flash was beaten by the fav and Harpo Marx and Yonkers both of whom finished behind Grandmaster Flash in their previous race.  Today I am using Musselburgh and Ron's market movers  as he tends to do well here.

3.05 Muss Gabrial the Tiger  6/1  another r Fahey Koukash horse that wins when it wants to. whether it is today remains to be seen.

4.40  Muss Althib 9/2  A UXB ? this is his first race in England since 2016 when he was 6th of 11 in a class 5 at Wolverhampton. He wasn't seen then until 2018 since when he has competed regularly in Ireland winning just one race over 1 mile at Thurles in Oct last year. I think he will be first or last.

£5 ew double

2.30 Muss  Boudica Bay  Was tried in class 5 sprints last year and he was 3rd twice before winning a class 6 at Ripon. He has had a couple of runs this season and is improving. Against him are a few who ran behind Bahlwan last time out Bahlwan was having his first run since coming over from Ireland (a UXB)n and won as the 9/2 fav. The ones behind him are better handicapped today but still may not be good enough but of those horses Mr Shelby should come out on top. I just hope that Boudica Bay can hold him off.

4.10 Muss  Chaplin Bay.  5/1  I cannot understand why this isn't the Fav.  he has been running in class 4s and 5s and his first two races last year he won and was second in class 4s at Newcastle. His two runs this year have been in class 4s and he was 3rd in both so this drop to class 6 must give him and excellent chance

£5ew double

Each Way double Day19

B/f  £196.80

Yesterday we had a 4th and a 5th in the first double and a 10/1 winner with a loser in the second. I see now why they put Chaplin Bay down to class six from class 4.  But he dwelt and was held up so maybe they have another race in mind.

2.50 Bev Scale Force 9/2  Beaten Fav last time out and carries top weight but rightly so.

3.20 Bev Foxtrot Knight 15/2 beaten fav last twice at Ponte He should now be fitter and ready to go in.

If these go in we will clear our losses and have £50 profit,

Each Way Double Day 20

B/f -£206.80

Another 4th and 5th yesterday.  There weren't many to choose from yesterday today is the opposite and we have two or three in most York races.  Two bets today.

1.50 York  First Eleven. 5/1 An open race and many with chances if on form. The fav has never run over 1mile 4f before and never run above class 3 so why is he fav. We will probably find out by 2.00 when he romps in but I cant back him as fav. First eleven has won a class 2 at Ascot and been third in a class 1 both over a mile and a half and with Gosden training and Dettori riding you know he will do his best.

2.25 York Aljady 5/1 This looks between Aljady and Staxton. you can guarantee that Tim Easterby will be trying at York and he has three in this race but will the horse be good enough. Last season he ran in numerous class 1s and s and won two class 4s and a class 2.  This field is better than that. O'Meara also has three in the race and he has won two of the last four runnings. Possibly his French import Arecibo will be his best chance even though he was behind both Staton and Intisaab at Ripon. That was his first run since coming over from France and Tudhope has still one for him over Intisaab and Gilliver.  I may have a little ew on Arecibo but for the ew double I will stick with the joint fav Aljady. He is obviously improving and from his five runs he has won three and been second once

£5ew double

For my second bet I have decided to find two 7/2 favs and do them regardless. If they are placed you make a small profit if they win you make £100.

4.05 York Space Blues 7/2

4.35 York Sun Power 7/2
