Tour Championship

The past couple of weeks have been quiet as I prefer tournaments that are fixtures at their host course, so anything like a new tournament or a new course with no data to support trends, or pro-ams etc don't get considered

This is potentially worse. A host, fixed cours and tournament but with a new format, Fedex Starting Strokes introduced, so that Justin Thomas plays the first tee with a score in the bank of 10 under. There is no cut, so all players complete 72 holes

The options are to play, most likely e/w or else Betfred apparently, the only bookmaker priced up also for the tournament without the FedEx scoring index applied, in effect a handicap, like racing

Tour Championship, East Lake GC, Atlanta- par 70 7346 yards, Donald Ross design, Rees-jones re-design, Meyer Zoysiagrass fairways, Tifway Bermuda rough, MiniVerde bemuda greens, stimp 12.5+ft, many long and thin with traditional run off areas. 72 bunkers, 3 water hazards. hosted since 2004 and every even year since 98. Only 2 par 5s and old style where getting ball on fairway counts and get ball below hole for uphill putts. High GIR, putting, accuracy/ball striking, scrambling. SG- off the tee, tee to green, around the green. Strong par 4 performance and par 5 scoring

Dusty, Casey, Rory, Rose and Webb Simpson all have decent to strong tournament form

Basic stats indicate top rated are McIlroy 8/1 Simpson 20/1 Thomas 12/5 Dusty 22/1 Kuchar 25/1

Given various ranking levels across the strokes gained and the prices, I will go for Matsuyama 33/1 (18s) Fleetwood 100/1 (25s) and Im 225/1(50s), (without FedEx price brackets) though frankly it's probably a tournament to walk away from
